The Gold Coast Performance Centre is extremely excited to announce that after 4 years with the current equipment, the gym will be completely refurbished, installing new flooring and Life Fitness equipment in the unique 600sqm gym.
This is a significant upgrade to the facilities and equipment offered to our members and guests and will include an increase in the number of lifting platforms and new machines.
Located in the same area as the current Gold Coast Performance Centre gym, the fully upgraded open-air facility will have state-of-the-art cardio equipment, cable machines, free weights, pin-loaded weight machines, plate machines, racks, and weight platforms.
The new gym equipment will include:
- Free weights area upgrade including new dumbbells and benches
- A 5-cell squat rack with lifting platforms
- Upgrade of the pin-loaded machines to the latest technology
- Upgrade of cardio machines and the addition of new equipment
- New Regupol rubber flooring throughout the gym
The Centre offers a diverse gym that offers limitless possibilities and a breadth of equipment that welcomes all exercisers.
Here is an introduction to the new equipment being installed in the gym:
3 new machines include – Glute Drive, Belt Squat and SkiErg.
Concept 2 SkiErg
The SkiErg helps build strength and endurance using the poling motions integral to the sport of Nordic skiing, but you don’t need to be a skier to benefit from the terrific low-impact and full-body exercise. The double poling movement involves not just arms and shoulders, but also the core and legs. The SkiErg easily accommodates adaptive athletes and those with lower-body injuries, as one can sit or kneel and still get a great upper body and core workout. The SkiErg is suitable for use with most wheelchairs.
Hammer Strength Glute Drive
The plate-loaded Glute Drive embodies the Hammer Strength standard for performance equipment. The Glute Drive allows functional movement for posterior power, so users don’t have to rely on barbells, dumbbell benches, or other devices to perform the movement. The Glute Drive gives you the full benefits of the hip thrust exercise, simply, safely, and with good form. The machine is designed to promote good biomechanics and a balanced weight curve.
Hammer Strength Belt Squat
Belt squatting provides similar muscular demands for the quadriceps, hamstrings, and plantar flexors, but is less demanding of trunk stabilizers, and gluteual muscles than a back squat. Belt squats may be a suitable alternative to back squats in order to avoid stressing low back or trunk musculature.
Front and rear weight rods allow for large weight loads and four belt anchor points provide varying resistance ratios. Wide, dual-foot platforms include a separation gap to help prevent marring from the belt and chain. The Belt Squat also features band pegs, long handles to accommodate users of all sizes, and a storage hanger for the belt and hook for added convenience.
Insignia Series Strength Equipment
The Insignia Series Strength Equipment has been designed to ease strength training for everyone. With easy-to-adjust and use machines, the Insignia Series allows for everyone to enjoy strength training utilising a safe machine. Machines utilise independent motion to maintain equilateral muscle development and accommodate exercisers with physical limitations. Expert biomechanics create controlled, natural feeling motions that provide an enjoyable experience for users at all fitness levels.
