Welcome to 2015! Clint Curran here, the Head of School at Runaway Bay Sport and Leadership Excellence Centre (RBSLEC). I hope this  email finds you well.

We’re looking to build on a massive 2014 here at RBSLEC. Over 7000 students attended our education programs focusing on leadership, academic achievement and sports excellence. This is a record number and I’m happy to say the reason is my fantastic team are committed to tailoring school programs to meet the needs of each school.

A few highlights were the Northern Collegiate Leadership Camp; Gaven SS playing touch football against the Fijian national team; Elanora SHS putting their students through our Study Habits Program; and the inaugural Gold Coast School Captains Leadership Summit (read more on that below).

I’m looking forward to all that 2015 brings! Any thoughts or ideas please get in touch anytime.

Outdoor Education, Not Outdoor Entertainment

Sports Super Centre | Outdoor Education

Over the past two years we’ve been rolling out high school transition days for Year 8 students. With the change to high school starting from Year 7, we’ve received a lot of bookings for the transition program. Week 1 this year we worked with 240 Year 8s and 180 Year 7s from Pacific Pines SHS. Topics included team building, ways of working together and resilience.

Julie Paul, Pacific Pines SHS Dean of Students, said:

“I wanted to email about your team’s professionalism, being thorough in organisation and transition from one activity to the other. The day ran very smoothly. The students positively challenged by participating in enjoyable team building activities. It was obvious by the end of the day that the students were bonding and forming new friendships. What would usual take many weeks has almost occurred in one day! We are definitely going to book you guys next year. We have had great feedback from staff. They too have noticed the immediate difference in the relationships between the students. Thank you so much Clint, to you and your team. A very valuable experience for our students.”

Try Our New Fitness Testing Equipment

Sports Super Centre | Fitness Testing

Our recently purchased fitness testing equipment was put through its paces for the first time by St Stephens College Rugby Union Academy in Term 4 last year. The players recorded some excellent results on the state-of-the-art timing gates, and vertical and horizontal leap equipment. They finished the day with deep water recovery and the crowd-pleasing ice/hot baths. To take your teams to the next level, book one of our Sports Excellence Programs.
