When you are planning for a once in a lifetime performance, you need quality training and recovery for your high performance training camp. The Gold Coast Performance Centre can support your preparation through elite training facilities, recovery options, nutritious meals, onsite accommodation and friendly staff members.
The Gold Coast Performance Centre was proud to play a key role as an official training venue for the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games (GC2018).
With more than $5 million of investment in our facilities ahead of GC2018, the Centre hosted teams and athletes from Australia and abroad for sports and para-sports including hockey, athletics, swimming, triathlon and beach volleyball.
High Performance Packages are for teams and athletes that represent their state or higher.
GC2018 driven infrastructure enhancements have laid a solid foundation for positioning the city as a world class sporting destination capable of hosting world class events, high performance training camps and sport business. Incorporating multiple stadiums, fields, indoor multi-purpose centres and pools the Gold Coast can offer a variety of multi-disciplinary training facilities.
The Gold Coast Performance Centre has IAAF track and field, FIH hockey pitch, beach volleyball training courts and is a unique, outstanding triathlon and para-triathlon training venue. In addition, the facility has a strength and conditioning gym, recovery ice baths, accommodation and catering to suit your teams needs in preparation for competition.
The Gold Coast averages 245 days of fine and sunny weather each year, and those rainy-day exceptions typically fall in the summer period (December – February).
During summer the average temperature on the Gold Coast is a pleasant 20-28°C. It can be humid in summer but this is usually offset by cool sea breezes.
In autumn (March – May), sunny days are followed by warm nights. Autumn temperatures fall between 16-26°C.
Winter (June – August) on the Gold Coast is generally sunny and dry with comfortable temperatures of 11-21°C. Many athletes escape the cooler weather in the southern states for a training camp in Queensland at this time of year. The humidity is lower, there is less rain, but the temperature is still nice and warm.
Spring (September – November) on the Gold Coast offers sunny days followed by mild tropical evenings. September can sometimes be windy and the temperatures fall between 15-25°C.
The Gold Coast Performance Centre is centrally located between the Gold Coast and Brisbane International Airports.
Local, national and international athletes, teams and sporting bodies from all disciplines are welcome to prepare for competition by training on our elite facilities.
