SPORT SPECIFIC STRENGTH AND CONDITIONING
Strength and Conditioning is a very important element to athlete performance.
This lecture will cover the role of strength and conditioning coaches, long-term athlete development (LTAD) and how to train different energy systems and fitness components.
STRENGTH AND CONDITIONING PRACTICAL SESSION
This practical session will take place in the gymnasium and will allow students to incorporate what they learned from the morning’s lecture and apply their knowledge. Instructors will demonstrate particular exercises that target specific muscle groups for specific sports.
SPORTS MEDICINE AND INJURY PREVENTION
An invaluable lecture for any young athlete this session covers the importance of warm ups, cool downs and stretching, protective equipment and how to identify any predisposition to injury or illness. You will also learn about rehabilitation techniques and how to safely return to activity after initial treatment.
In this invaluable practical session you will go through strapping techniques for various joints and limbs. Learn how to prevent or manage injuries, prepare for competition and recover fast using expert techniques and materials.
